Do you accept patients without immunizations ?

We do not accept new patients who won't vaccinate or request an alternative schedule. As a new patient you are required to sign our vaccine policy that states that you will be discharged from the practice if you don't consent to CDC recommended vaccines at 2 months of age. Existing patients and their siblings will be grandfathered. This will ensure that our herd immunity is protected. Herd immunity is very important since many vaccines such as the measles vaccine needs a 90-95% vaccination rate to prevent outbreaks. When this rate drops below that critical level outbreaks such as measles, pertussis (whooping cough) and meningitis starts to surface and causes illness and even mortality that could have been prevented. None of our vaccines have thimerosal which is a additive to some multidose vials.

We follow the CDC immunizations guidelines and are firm believers that immunizations are very safe. Most vaccine reactions are usually minor and temporary, such as a sore arm or mild fever.  Very serious health events are extremely rare and are carefully monitored and investigated. You are far more likely to be seriously injured by a vaccine-preventable disease (e.g Pertussis, Measles, Meningitis) than by a vaccine.
